I normally do not bother with adding my 2 cents but I feel bad for the owner of Cayo Coco. In response to Sabrina's review, I had my birthday party of 20 to 25 people there too. I met the owner and he was great from start to finish. I ended up taking up most of the space on the 3rd floor (limited seating mind you) and he actually didn't let others come up to that room that night. Service was fantastic, I had friends that came at different times and yet we were all fed in good time. The food is great there especially the tapas. The wine menu is phenominal for the prices he charges. Overall a great experience especially considering I was at another b-day party in the past where service was terrible, they were not ready to serve our group of 20ppl even though we probably spent easily over $1000 that night. Cayo Coco definitely does not deserve a bad review.

Love it ! Love it ! Love it !
Love the intimate bar setting, such a romantic place for a date. Plus the mojitos are fantastic ... which makes the place that much nicer ... ha ha ha.
Add in the dancing on saturday night with great DJ and no cover (I think because we ate there), can't beat that!
I'll be back and bringing my girlfriends to salsa and dance to the reggaeton new rage ! See you soon!

Excellent food! Great lamb with lemon and my favourite garlic shrimp in the city!
Best feature in my mind is the warm bread rolls with spreadable butter! It seems like a simple thing, yet, great WARM bread and butter that actually spreads ... sets the scene for a great dinner. Don't you hate going to a place with a cold roll and frozen butter, makes me want to leave!
If this place takes such detailed care of their bread, just imagine the care in their food - which I have to say is just GREAT !
I'll definitely return and bring friends !

Great Food, Fabulous Service and Spectacular Paella !!!
I'm a regular visitor to Toronto, for business (2 weeks out of the month), and always bring my clients to this fabulous, hidden jewel, in the downtown core.
Being an avid amateur world traveler eating at Cayo Coco reminds me of my travels to Madrid. The authenticity of the food harkens me back to the long nights exploring Madrids streets - wine glass and tapas in hand! The service is above average and with the dancing area/bar downstairs - this place is the total pacakge - especially when entertaining clients!
In reference to the review below, I believe I was actually eating there that night with clients and I'm shocked to read the callousness of the review. As I always say "There's always 2 sides of a coin." This situation sticks out of my mind because I remember a martini dropping on a person that night.
It might not be the same group, but, if it was WOW this review is way off base. This particular group of about 20-25 people were some of the most obnoxious, loud and rude group I've ever seen, at least in such a fine dining establishment like Cayo Coyo. I could expect this sort of group at a East Side Mario's or a McDonald's. No need for any personal attacks but it seemed like one of those groups who never makes it out of "suburbia" except for that 1 or 2 special occasions all year - yet I think they left their manners in Scarborough.
Anyways, this night also sticks out in my mind because it wasn't actually only me who was having my evening ruined by this immature group of people. There was actually another diner that actually told this immature group off, I guess to keep it down or tone down the rudeness. I was quite amazed that the other diner said something to this group yet at the same time relieved! I've never seen that happen before at Cayo Coco, but I was sure glad someone had the gall to do it!
All in all, I'd have to say that my night, despite the 20-25 group of uneducated suburbanites was still great. The food was as usual - perfect to a tee, dancing afterwards was great and I'll definitely be back again for more!
Definitely check this place out for a pleasant evening out for authentic tapas.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE!
Me and my friends had the worst experience at this place - I went there for my birthday and my friends got the worst service ever. I'm still embarrassed! Although I had booked a private room for my party, we didn't get the room to ourselves and no explanation was given to us. It took an hour and a half for just our drinks to arrive; two of my friends had to leave without eating because the service was so slow; and worst of it all the waiter spilled a martini all over one of my friends and didn't even bother to apologize. Instead of saying sorry, he ran out the door and when he came back a few minutes later, all he had to say was that it wasn't intentional! It took him a while before he bothered saying sorry and even after that they didn't offer to pay for her dry cleaning or give her a complimentary meal or a drink or any gesture to make up for it. The manager and the owner at the restaurant are extremely rude and twice when my sister and I tried to call and complain about the evening and the bad service, they hung up on us! We were at the restaurant for 5 hours and I have never had to wait so long for just dinner! Some of my friends had to send the food back when it finally arrived because it wasn't edible and many of us had to repeat our orders at least five times in order to get everything we ordered!
It's a place I would never go back to and whether you are looking for a nice evening or good Spanish food or celebrating a special day, this is not the place to go!

It's a shame when people dine out that they have so much to say about a fine dinnig establishment.refering to Sabrina comments on CayoCoco Obviously these individual would go to any means in a attempt to destroy someones business, just listen to the non sense they have written who in the right mind would absorb so much punishment. I have been a customer of Cayo Coco for 3 years and have encounter non other then great friendly service and excellent food
Ps : I feel sorry for other establishments that have to put up with Sabrina
